Efficiency for Service Centers

Slit coils are produced in batches (mults) from a master coil. A Slit Coil Packing Line must separate these batches and process them individually. The 'Down-ender' is the critical first step, safely tipping the coil from 'Eye-to-Wall' (as it comes off the turnstile) to 'Eye-to-Sky' (for strapping and stacking).

Through-the-Eye Strapping

Automated radial strapping is a key feature. The machine finds the coil eye and feeds the strap through it, securing the layers. This is much faster and safer than manual strapping.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q

How does it separate the coils?

A 'Coil Car' with a separating arm picks coils off the turnstile one by one, or a 'Pick-up' station separates them on the conveyor.
Q

Can it wrap multiple coils together?

Yes, the stacker can create a 'Eye-to-Sky' stack of coils, which can then be wrapped as a single unit if required.
Q

What is the sorting logic?

The PLC tracks each coil. A sorting table (turntable) can direct coils to different stacking positions based on customer orders.
Q

How does it handle timber dunnage?

Automatic timber feeders can place wood separators between coils during the stacking process.
